A meeting was held between Ambassador Farid Talibov and the Mayor of Shizuoka City, Takashi Namba

On March 18, 2026, a meeting was held between Ambassador Farid Talibov and the Mayor of Shizuoka City, Takashi Namba. The Ambassador stated that after ensuring the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan in all its territories, intensive reconstruction and restoration works are currently being carried out in the liberated and destroyed territories as a result of the occupation, and that the Great Return resettlement program, which includes the return of former internally displaced persons, and urban development are being implemented in the mentioned territories. Ambassador F. Talibov provided the counterpart with detailed information on the essence of the 13th session of the World Urban Forum to be held in Baku on May 17–22, 2026, the role of Baku as the host, and the expected results of the event.

During the meeting, Ambassador F. Talibov presented the relevant invitation letter to the Mayor of Shizuoka City and expressed his desire for his participation in WUF13. In turn, the Mayor of Shizuoka City, Takashi Namba, expressed his gratitude for the invitation.
